Fed up? Poor?

Hey reader,

image that reads I am fed up
I have heard this said a few times

Welcome, are any of us fed up? maybe feeling poor?maybe both?

Are we actually fed up of being poor? and want or need to do something about it, because if so welcome to “my place”

You are with good company – lets chat!

Whether fed up or poor, I want to help. I am a great listener, I am used to being fed up and definitely poor in so many ways

Back in November (if you have read any of my other posts) I was homeless in huge debts,my life was falling apart due to personal reasons, my car had been written off, I couldn’t afford to replace it or get to work.

OK so I had a car, and work, but cars cost money to run and I only had a part time job on min wage that barely covered bills let alone pay debts. I wasn’t entitled to benefits.

I did not know where to turn, who to turn to, and my mental health was getting worse, depression began kicking in. This is an area I have never spoken about to anyone or with anyone seeing it as a weakness or a failure within myself.

I must shout out to Alex Davies of Pushing back the shadows

Thank you Alex for walking with me. We have shared a few dark nights together chatting.

I had no access to funds as my wages had been transferred out, leaving me with no option but to to get a credit card extend overdrafts, which I knew would be a downward spiral, but I convinced myself it was for an emergency and this was an emergency.(thanks HSBC)

The only thing that saved me was that many years ago I had been in a similar situation if not worse and I knew I had a choice, to fight or be beaten.

I chose to fight this, and began:

researching:- google

Ways to get out of debt, Earn more, Dream dreams,

Put in strategies such as budgets, watch videos, Get books .

I began a new journey of a new sense of freedom of mind, freedom of finances, freedom in life – my way!

Sometimes in my life I have felt held back from the things I wanted to do, have you had that right?

There have been fears or insecurities or people laughing at my ideas-cruel hurtful unsupportive.

In January I said No MORE – and I would just go for it. I decided not to tolerate others trying to intimidate me, belittle, mock, control me, have you ever experienced any of those?

So this blog is also speaking out against those things, and supporting those folk who want to make something of themselves, deserve better, want to succeed, want to say that NOW IS MY TIME!

I could go deeper, but my simple passion is to help people, and while poverty and making money, saving money will appear as key themes basically I want to respond to the call that when someone says they need help, that I can answer that call when perhaps others do not, cannot, will not and thanks to the internet and phones it is so easy to do this.

I want a better life for myself – what about you? Do you know or want-to-know how-to-get-a-better-life?

It was hard and sometimes you feel like you have no choices, no help, and you feel so alone.

If this is you or someone you know, please get in touch, because not only have I been there but I can help.

In January I decided I was fed up of being poor, and I was determined to do something about it.

In less than 3 months, I turned this life around, I am out of debt, I have savings, I have been on two holidays, a day away in a bed and breakfast, got a new car, paid for a spa session, bought new clothes, took up writing, made new friends near and far, (a huge thanks to these friends, i love and value you so much) and now in the business of helping others and investing in myself.

I have a “vision board” (Its like a dreams and ideas board)

I want to “Get the change, and keep the change!” (a phrase I have coined)

“We should not be defined by what we are, but be defined by what we could be.” Steven Alexander 2018

I do not want to work for “anyone”.. I want to work “with” – that mindset is a game changer.

an image that reads, if you do not make the time to work on creating the life you want you are eventually going to be forced to spend a lot of time dealing with a life you don't want.
Time to choose what life you want? just like Kevin Ngo

Pennies from Heaven.

a photo of a pottery pig money box

Welcome!

Yep that is my piggy bank:) cute huh.

My grandma used to say “look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves” as a kid of 11, I was like OK grandma… But how wise she was!

A random question for you. If you saw say a currency note on the floor, value of 5,10,20 how many of you would pick that up? Would you pocket it?

As a child, my dad made me take a £20.00 note to the police station I found in a puddle.

Occasionally though money is found on the floor.. As to what you do with it next is your decision.

I’m wondering however, what if it is just a penny or 5p or similar, would you still pick it up? (I appreciate it would be different currency in another country)

see a penny, pick it up

If someone said to you to go and Pick some receipts off the floor they could be worth 30p each, plus it’s cleaning up your neighborhood would you do it? I’m thinking probably not but some might.

I’m presented by this kind of dilemma regularly.

On the one hand I’m praying God I want some money, Do prayers for money work? I need some, and then opportunities come along where I can get pence on maybe surveys or picking up receipts or finding the odd coin.

How many of these opportunities do you think I pass up? I will be honest a lot, and why? Because I think it’s not worth it.

Now here’s the thing, whether a believer in God the cosmos the universe, whatever or no faith, you may have muttered under your breath your need or want for money, just as I do quite frequently.

Now opportunities come my way where I can earn little or sometimes I do not even have to earn it, yet I pass them by. If I then pass the little things because I cannot be bothered or too much like hard work, then what chance do I have of getting the big bucks in.

Perhaps I might have a flutter on the lottery or have a bet thinking I might win big, but who really wins? You go in the store for a lottery ticket and you come out with groceries and then you don’t even win.. Do the math, does it add up to you?

I am not saying do not do those things but be aware of addictions or how much money you are spending if you are indeed fed up of being poor because let’s face it, this is a potential area of weakness for some right!

Regularly I tell myself “this week I’m going to win the lottery.” but of course I do not, but who knows.

Let me share with you though, that since starting this blog that: I have gone from zero saving to now I have 3 kinds of saving boxes. One for charity, one for my kids because they always want or need something and one for myself as I save for Christmas.

Every Christmas I seem to have no money to buy presents etc but I seem to find the money and then of course I’m in debt after. Each year I promise myself things will be different so this year I’m not only making a change I’m saving my change.

I always like the idea of giving to charity and again I give out of debt and money I can’t afford and being honest these charities have more money than me but I still give.

I do believe what goes around comes around and so where I am able I like to give and would like to give more.

I found a recent website that encouraged me to save pennies each day and it seems to be working. I have to warn you though there is a danger of dipping in to it if I need change for something. WARNING DO NOT DO THIS! Get out of the habit.

I am working hard at changing my mindset as well about pennies and valuing any kind of money whatever the opportunity (within reason)

Today if you are feeling fed up of being poor, let me encourage you to
